Starting in 2012, Stacy studied yoga intensively under the tutelage of Erica Kaufman, founder of Lila Yoga, for one year through the Lila Yoga Teacher Training program (LYTT) and earned certification through Yoga Alliance as RYT200. As part of the program, she traveled to Chennai, India to study yoga for 7 days at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarin where she gained immense respect and gratitude for Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, “father of modern yoga”.
Influenced by the magnificent calm and sense of peace from one of her first yoga classes in 2009, Stacy embarked on a special journey through a dedicated yoga practice. Discovering her spiritual Self, which she considers connected to all and beyond the individual, is one of the most profound revelations of the practice.

As part of the program, she traveled to Chennai, India to study yoga for 7 days at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarin where she gained immense respect and gratitude for Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, “father of modern yoga”.
She began teaching Sun Salutations at Lila yoga after graduating in July 2013 and continues to teach this ancient healing sequence with a modern Lila interpretation.
Stacy finds insight and enthusiasm through her primary yoga charya’s (teacher) wisdom and lessons, as well as through other lineages and yoga teachers such as Gurmukh, Jo Tastula, and Kristen Boccumini Thwing to name a few. She teaches Lila yoga style with touches of these other inspirations sprinkled throughout the class. Classes typically emphasize asana, pranayama, the ethics and philosophy of yoga, and are balanced with time for rest and meditation.
Her experiences of pregnancy and motherhood led to an interest in both prenatal yoga and postnatal Mom and Baby yoga. Stacy has been teaching prenatal yoga since early 2014, and postnatal class since late 2014 at Lila Yoga in downtown State College.
Ayla, Stacy’s daughter, remains the main source of her joy, understanding, and inspiration. Stacy practices kids yoga with her daughter at home and also works at a local preschool (St.Paul’s) introducing mindfulness, yoga, and interconnectedness to children ages 2-5.
If you are interested in trying an all-level class, on Tuesday evenings Stacy teaches at the State College YMCA, a local non-profit organization with core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring.
Stacy teaches weekly and hopes you may create the space to join her in this holistic practice of union, peace, and wellbeing.
Namaste.
